The paper bead bracelet Bangili is manufactured at Acasia workshop in Nairobi. Paper beads are rolled from recycled paper. Each bead is different and unique. Jewellery colours and tones vary according to recycled newspaper. Beads are varnished, they shine beautifully and there are small glass pearls between them. Blacksmith Steve has made small heart from recycled aluminum in Kibera-slum.
Acasia imports the beads from Uganda, where they have been hand crafted by the local women. Also Acasia has the International Fair Trade certificate. Photos by Uupi Tirronen
